Coconut Oil in Your Daily Beauty Regime

I always love the smell of coconut oil and have a tub of cold-pressed coconut oil in my bathroom. I want to share how I use coconut oil for my daily beauty regime – try these 8 ways to use Coconut Oil in your daily beauty regime.

Coconut oil is known for its versatility but can you believe not only for cooking – yes for those roast potatoes or making coconut fudge, coconut oil brings amazing benefits for your hair, face, nails and also for teeth. Coconut oil is an inexpensive, chemical-free alternative for many beauty products. What I am sharing is just using pure coconut oil as it is, not mixing it with anything.

Coconut oil as a cleanser

Use coconut oil twice a day in the morning and evening as your facial cleanser to help remove the impurities that build upon your face. Try this as double cleansing, first gently apply a layer of coconut oil and rinse it away and then apply a second layer to deep cleanse your skin.

Coconut oil as a facial massage

Warm the coconut oil in your hands and rubbing the hands together. Then massage your face starting with cheekbones then massaging all your face gently. Pinch along your brows to release tension and underneath your eyes to get rid of puffiness. The facial massage increases blood flow and makes your skin brighter.

Coconut oil as a makeup remover

Simply warm the coconut oil between your palms then massage over your skin. Use a damp cotton wool pad to remove the oil and any makeup.

Coconut oil as shaving cream

Apply a thin layer of coconut oil to the skin and shave straight away. You can use it as a closer shave, your legs and underarms as well.

Coconut oil as a deodorant

You can also use coconut oil as a deodorant. Spoon out little oil and smooth on your underarms.

Coconut oil as oil pulling

Use a teaspoon of solid coconut oil and put it into your mouth to melt it. Swirl and swish around your mouth like you use mouthwash. Push and pull it through your teeth and your gums. Make sure you don’t swallow the oil as the main idea of this is to get rid of all the bad stuff. Do this for about 15 minutes and spit it out – into a bin (do not spit it out into your sink as it may block it as the oil will solidify.

Coconut oil for the hair

Apply coconut oil on your hair and massage well. Keep this for about 2 hours and rinse it with a shampoo. Your hair will glow and look really shiny!

Coconut oil for the body

After a shower or a bath apply coconut oil all over your body as a moisturiser.

I am sure you will try these 8 ways to use Coconut Oil in your daily beauty regime and reap the benefits. Coconut oil is high in vitamin E which is highly beneficial to the skin. You can also try cold press organic pure coconut oil. Coconut oil can solidify if the temperature is low. The easiest way to melt the solid coconut oil is to place a heatproof glass bowl inside a saucepan and fill it with boiling water. Keep until the coconut oil becomes liquid.
